Think PiNk

I am seriously wondering how I have never come across this song? "Think Pink" was featured in the American musical film "Funny Face" starring Audrey Hepburn released in 1957, with assorted songs by George and Ira Gershwin.

I am a PiNk lover - in case you hadn't noticed - I will buy anything pink if you put me to the test. My friends can vouch for that. From pink shoes and handbags to pink phones and cameras, pink skioutfit, pink sunglasses and earrings, pink PJ's, pink tennis racket AND golf clubs, just to name a few.

I LOVE PINK!

Effects of the Colour Pink

"Drawing is feeling. Colour is an act of reason."
Pierre Bonnard

You might have guessed that my favourite colour is pink. I am told that the meaning of the colour pink is unconditional love and nurturing. In colour psychology, pink is a sign of hope. It is a positive colour inspiring warm and comforting feelings, a sense that everything will be okay. I admit that I tend to make everything OK and see the positive sides rather the negative ones in an situation. Would that make me a "hot pink" personality?

Here are some details about my favourite colour.

The Colour Pink Represents:

Unconditional love: Pink relates to both unconditional love and romantic love.

Compassion: Empathy and understanding are the fuel for pink's nurturing.

Nurturing: Pink is both the giving and the receiving of love, understanding and respect.

Hope: Pink inspires the possibility of a positive outcome.

Effects of the Colour Pink:

Calming: Pink calms our emotional energies.

Non-threatening: Pink lacks any aggression or anger, although the deeper pinks can be more assertive and confident.

Affectionate: Pink offers warmth and tenderness to friends and family.

Caring: Sensitivity and tender loving care relate to pink's feminine and intuitive energies.

Immature: Pink is the colour of the sweet young girl, before life's experiences take over.

Variations of the Colour Pink:

Blush: Similar to skin color, this very pale pink has sensual and sexual connotations. It is non-threatening but lacks passion and energy.

Rose Pink: This is the pink of universal love and unity. It is mature, feminine and intuitive.

Salmon Pink: There is a touch of orange in salmon pink. It encourages the flirt, and can be a sign of the timid lover, all talk and no play.

Orchid: This is an unusual lavender-pink and relates to the unconventional and the individual doing his or her own thing. It is the non conformist.

Fuchsia: A blend of deep pink and blue, fuchsia inspires confidence, assurance and maturity, a more responsible and controlled nurturing and love.

Hot Pink: Hot pink inspires a more passionate, playful and sensual love. It exudes warmth and happiness and a love of life.

Pink Colour Personality

If your favourite colour is pink - like myself - you are likely to display at least some character qualities of the colour personality linked to pink. You may also hold some of the more negative character traits associated with the meaning of pink.

Pink is a feminine, warm and compassionate colour. The meaning of pink is that of love, romance and comfort.

The pink colour meaning linked to personality explains the character traits most associated with people who have pink as a favourite colour.

So if you have a pink colour personality you have a generous, warm, loving and compassionate nature.

If you have pink as a favourite colour you display maternal and the traditional feminine traits of caring and nurturing and need to give love and attention to others. You also need a great deal of love yourself and crave protection, safety and security.

You are very romantic and sensuous and enjoy the idea of being in love. You sometimes feel as your life is missing romance and because of this you lose yourself easily by watching romantic films and reading romance novels.

You are a positive optimist and always find the good in everyone. Because of this you may have placed your trust and affections into undeserving people.

On the downside of a pink colour personality you can be overly sensitive and hurt easily.

With pink as a favourite colour you can also become too reliant and dependent on others and lack the confidence to go it alone.

If pink is your favourite colour you need to really treat and pamper yourself. Put your needs first for a change and really look after yourself. Find ways to make the best of yourself both externally and internally. A new hairstyle, stylish outfit or soothing massage will make you feel and look good.

Begin to be open and receptive to others showing their affection for you. Receive ALL compliments with a big smile and a big thank you!

June 23rd is National PiNK Day!!!

"Pink isn't just a colour. It's an attitude!"

Today is definatley MY day. Today is the day to celebrate the colour PiNK in every way you can think of. It is easy to enjoy and participate in this holiday. Bring your pink inner self out of hiding. Wear pink and show off everything you have that's pink, from clothing and shoes to accessoires and make-up. Be creative. Use food coloring to make pink meals. Pink frosting on a cake or cookies will be a big hit today. Have a PiNK party!

Though I can’t find much in the way of a historical reference or origin story on where National Pink Day comes from, I can say that I love any excuse to wear more PiNK! Sure, the color PiNK has been given many different meanings depending on the motives, cause or stereotype. Whatever it is about this fun, girlie color – let’s embrace it on June 23rd!

Aretha Franklin at Bellinzona's Rabadan Carnival

When the Swiss let lose they really let lose!

Give the Swiss half a chance to step out of their ruled and highly organized routine and they really know how to have fun. Now, I know that might be hard to believe but have you ever met a Swiss abroad? Have you noticed how relaxed and humourous they can be? I am a firm believer that Swiss are a great deal of fun you just need to get to it!!!!

This year's carnival in Bellinzona featured a pink "Guggenband" grooving to the rythm of Aretha Franklin. Just my kind of style. Check it out on: Ticinonews - Aretha Franklin at Rabadan.

Ticino's Carnival ends today...therefore the king and queen of the various cities in this canton will be returning "the keys" to their respective mayors in order to reinstall Swiss law and order until next year!!!!

Pink Luxury

“A house is made of walls and beams; a home is built with love and dreams.”

Here is a home full of light, color and life. The Micheli Residence comes from Italian architect Simone Micheli and was built for the artist’s family. Located in a beautiful part of Florence, you are looking at a home which does not involve only a fabulous design. The architect meant to transform a regular living space into one that would reflect the creator’s architectural focus: “Ethical Luxury”. Here is more information on the concept from Simone Micheli: “ …the new luxury does not mean immobility or habit, but rather freedom and movement. It is a light and stirring thought, at any moment we are able to choose where and how to live and to reinvent the environment we live in. As for architecture the new luxury is related to the idea of regaining the beauties and the truth of our daily life together with our inner feelings”.

Shopping for the perfect Valentine's Day gift

You have got the whole weekend to find the perfect gift for your sweetheart or why not pamper yourself? If you haven't come across your pink dream in the Toys for Girls book you might want to consider the following selection.

The closer we get to Feb. 14, the more pink electronics are coming out of the woodwork!

In view of Valentine’s Day I thought I’d come up with some gift suggestions combining high tech with distinct female aesthetic. Sound sytems, underwater MP3 players, top luxury phones and mobiles, pocket notebooks have definitely been getting into the V-Day spirit... a world that is evermore expanding: the art of pink design engineering.

GLAMOUR TELEPHONES:  Get a cordless phone like this one and turn it into a decorative, almost sculptural piece of art for your living room. With the buttons arranged in two rows and a black support, it is another great idea offered Bang & Olufsen (661 €).

USB necklaces: Ceramic is one of the hottest trend for jewelry at the moment.
Danish brand Kähler had the idea to combine beauty and functionality by creating My Life collection, a unique range of USB necklace made in ceramic. A sexy and ultra-modern way to carry all your precious files around! 2 GB of capacity (49.95 €/ each).

DESIGN & SOUND: Bang & Olufsen remain true to sound and style with the BeoSound 8 new docking station for iPhone, iPod, and iPad. High-end design and amazing technological features, the BeoSound 8 can be placed in any room or even hang on the wall. It offers sublime sound and beautiful design. (995 €).

ATTENTION GETTER: The undeniably chic and colorful 1.3-pound2, 8-inch3 Vaio P portable does more than you could imagine – with impeccable style. Work on important documents, organize your photos and music, or just show it off when you want some attention. Once you get used to it, you'll wonder how you ever got along without it. Best of all, it fits right in your purse or jacket pocket. Includes GPS (899 €).

FRESH, SPIRITED, COOL, YOU: Where is it written that a keyboard can’t be stylish? That a mouse can’t be whimsical? Logitech believe self-expression can be found in most everyday objects, so they created the Logitech Fantasy Collection. Mouse M305 (29,99 €) and Speakers LS11, (19,95 €).

THINK PINK: If you’re gonna go pink, then why not go all the way with matching pink accessories? That is the idea behind the Olympus FE-340 Pink 8 MP Digital Camera Deluxe Kit. The kit doesn’t just include a pink camera, but it also comes with a matching leather case, a 4×6 photo frame, and a photo Storage box. The camera sports a 1.7″ LCD, 5X optical zoom, face detection technology, red eye removal, an AVI movie mode, Digital Image Stabiliz and has 1GB capacity (180 €).

KEYBOARD AND MOUSE FOR BLONDES: First off, it’s pink, so you’re probably intrigued already right? The designers have also made things easier for us girls with some special keys.

You’ll get a lot of use out of the MySpace spacebar, while Enter= Yes, I want it. Delete= “Oops” and T= TC4S, too cool for school. S= “SOS”, shoes on sale. Seems like they covered everything. The numbers even look like dice rather than plain old digits. With this keyboard, every moment you type is a blonde moment. The link "Keyboard for blondes" is definately worth a peek. ;) (59.50€)

VERSACE UNIQUE SMARTPHONE: Designed for the cosmopolitans who love technology combined with fashion in mind, the new Versace Unique luxury mobile phone unites all essential functions for professional and personal use. A full-featured multimedia creation, Versace Unique also offers bespoke services and private fittings to clients who want to suit personal style, inspirations and creative mood in colour and texture accoutrements for the telephone. (5'500. €)

SONY MP3 PLAYER with HEADPHONES: When jogging or at the gym, no matter how cute and tiny your pink mp3 player is, having dangling cords and having to carry an mp3 player around can be a nuisance. When working out, you want no fuss, a cord free gadget that will allow you to go through the entire workout free of wires, as they can get in the way be yanked accidentally out of the player while working out. Look no further: these tiny music devices offer 2 GB of memory space, hours of fun music and the beauty comes in the fact that the mp3 player is actually integrated in the headphones. (85.-€)

UNDERWATER MUSIC from NAICAL: Perfect for bringing music to your favorite aquatic sports, the Nu Technology Dolphin Touch MP3 player will keep you entertained whether you are out lap swimming, snorkeling, kayaking or surfing.

The Dolphin Lite is a comfortable and ergonomic MP3 whose battery lasts 18 hours of continuous playback, and weighs only 20 grams. It is available with 2GB of storage at a price of 79.- € at the official website of the company.

SONY DIGITAL READER Pocket Edition: it's elegant, lightweight design makes it perfect for on-the-go reading. Take your favorite books (up to 350) with you to the beach, on travels or to bed. Build your library comfortably from home at the eBook Store from Sony, where you can access new releases or choose from over one million free public domain titles from Google Books, or you can visit public libraries to borrow eBooks if you live in the US. Toys for girls

"If Women Didn't Exist, All the Money of the World Would Have No Meaning"

I came across this pink book just before Christmas thinking: "this would be a nice Christmas present to receive" and then forgot all about it. Well, I spotted it in the sales again and just couldn't resist.
Written by Patrice Farameh who also published the coffee table book series "Luxury hotels" it is dedicated to us women!

This highly imaginative new book shows you hundreds unique products ranging from breathtaking accessories, unique jewelry and top fashion to glamorous domestic appliances and sexy telephones, all exclusively designed for women who like to dream. Toys for Girls is about the ultimate pampering that is only available to the few, but is subject of the dreams and conversations of many. This amazing book will therefore inspire a readership much broader than just those who have sufficient means to seek out and buy these prohibitively expensive toys.

For a mere CHF 30.30 at Exlibris online you can purchase a tiny bit of luxury and keep dreaming for the rest of the day.

Pink digital camera

Just came across this site and I am in pink heaven. I had no clue so many pink cameras were on the market.

My question is: "Who DO they sell them to apart from me?"

I have not bought anything from this site because I prefer browsing through a shop, receiving some professional advice and a guarantee (a physical place and person) I can contact should I need after-sales service.

Having put the record straight, don't you just love the variety of this web page? Click on this link and see for yourself: Pink Digital Camera

Pink is colour of the year 2011

THINK PINK

It will come as no surprise to anyone who glimpsed the hothouse hues favored by Marc Jacobs in his spring 2011 collection that we’re in for a hot pink year.

According to the Pantone Color Institute, which sets the trends and color standards for fashion and home décor has declared "Honeysuckle" the courageous, confident, and vital color of the year for 2011. It’s a bold follow-up to the escapist (yet similarly tropical) choice of Turquoise for 2010 and the previous year’s much ado about Mimosa.

Honeysuckle is a captivating, stimulating color that gets the adrenaline going. Wearing the color can make you look and feel happier. Does that mean my phone, my camera, my chairs, my sheets, my shoes, my clothes, my skisuit, my tennis racket, my golfbag AND my blog are in fashion???
