Expat with Kids Social Media

Stuck at home with a thigh muscle strain - needless to say the weather is gorgeous and a run would seem like a great idea - I have reverted to streamlining all my social media feeds... et voilà le résultat!

Articles I like about Expat life on Pinterest

Pinterest is a beautiful tool to gather all your recipes, deco ideas, printable websites and favourite articles. When I come across an article about a subject I am passionate about I pin it on my designated "Articles I like ...." board. Check out the Expat articles I have collected over the past months: https://www.pinterest.com/expatwithkids/articles-i-like-expats/

The BORED JAR

“Life is never boring, but some people choose to be bored.”
Wayne Dyer

Every once in a while I come across an incredibly inspiring post by a fellow blogger that I just need to share. The last one was: I'm an Organizing junkie.

Yesterday I shared my new-found passion of pinning photos on Pinterest boards: http://pinterest.com/expatwithkids/.

Today I would like to introduce you to 365 days of pinterest creationshttp://kirstycolquhoun.blogspot.com/.

Kristy Colquhoun lives in rural Auckland, she is a home schooling mummy of two children and makes something great every day from her pinterest boards! Regardless of whether a seam is a little crooked, she unfailingly goes onto the next pin and brings it to life.

My absolute favourite idea is the BORED JAR. Whenever a peep in Kristy's house utteres the phrase "I'm bored" they have to go to the jar and do the activity they pull out without whining, ifs, or buts! Mummy puts in lots of good stuff like have an ice cream, ride bikes for an hour, play with chalk, but there are also some nasties in their to discourage the use of the 'bored' phrase ... so if you do utter it, you take your chances on whether saying it was worth it!

I bet you nobody will mention being bored in my household after I set up my "BORED JAR"

Pinterest Love

“Enthusiasm is excitement with inspiration, motivation, and a pinch of creativity.”
Bo Bennett

When I was young I used to cut out cool pictures and ads from fashion magazines. I had my entire room plastered with them as if it were my personal photo album.

I have now discovered the online equivalent of decorating your space with photos you like. It is called Pinterest. The idea of "pinning" is described as a virtual bulletin board that you pin inspiration onto.

Instead of bookmarking sites and inspiration, you can post your findings on your personalized board! So, there is no more need going through bookmarks or trying to remember where you saw something. You can see photos of everything you have “pinned” in one place!! There are TONS of pins that you can share and repin to create your own board. Admittedly, it is complete procrastination but it is so inspirational in many ways. Decorating home and garden motivation, food suggestions for dinner parties, DIY relevations, Party ideas, and so much more.
